Kelly Boone, LMFT
Kelly Boone (she/her/hers) is a 2016 graduate of the Appalachian State Marriage & Family Therapy master's degree program. She has lived in the mountains of NC since 2001, and when not at work she is usually with her husband and sons, tending to their old home forever in need of renovations, or enjoying the beautiful outdoor spaces of the High Country. She is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of North Carolina and a professional EMDR practitioner, certified through the EMDR International Association.
As a therapist, Kelly is dedicated to creating a safe space for all of her clients to explore themselves and their lives. She strives to combine her clinical knowledge and experience with her clients’ wisdom and perspective to facilitate effective change. She recognizes the courage needed to reach out for help and offers her deep respect to her clients in their efforts to confront the challenges of their lives.

Audrey Lipschutz, MSW, LCSW
Audrey Lipschutz (she/her/hers) graduated from Appalachian State University in 2021 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and is now a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. Audrey moved to Boone in 2016 and has been fortunate enough to call it home ever since. When she’s not at work, Audrey enjoys playing sports, exploring the outdoors, and eating from all the local spots.
As a therapist, Audrey believes in meeting clients where they’re at and providing a safe, affirming space for them to grow in. She utilizes a combination of cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, and psychoanalytic approaches to empower clients to be their own change agents. Audrey has experience working with all age ranges who present with a variety of concerns, such as severe and persistent mental illness, substance misuse, identity concerns, relationship problems, adjustment concerns, and eating/body-image concerns.

Tessa Koeval, LMFT
Tessa Koeval (she/her/hers) received her master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Appalachian State University in 2022 and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). Tessa lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her husband, where they enjoy hiking, backpacking, and exploring the High Country together.
As a therapist, she works to join with her clients and journey alongside them as they move towards their personal and/or relational goals. She is passionate about working with a wide range of clients (individuals, couples, families, etc.) on a variety of presenting issues from depression, anxiety, bipolar, and grief, to couple, relational, family, and life-phase difficulties. Instead of just surviving, she wants her clients to feel they are living their lives and experiencing their relationships to their fullest.

Julie Browder, LMFTA
Julie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) with a passion for helping individuals, couples, and families cultivate strong and meaningful relationships. Julie has lived in Western NC for most of her life and graduated from the Marriage and Family Therapy graduate program at Appalachian State University.
Julie is dedicated to helping her clients achieve their unique goals. Julie supports her clients by providing a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore and their stories and patterns to foster healing and resilience. As a systems therapist specializing in relational health and wellness, she uses evidence-based techniques combined with the principles of attachment theory to help couples strengthen their overall connection, enhance communication, and deepen emotional intimacy.
Julie is a Gottman Level 1 certified therapist and is trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT). Julie believes strongly that a healthy relationship to self and others is the foundation for overall well-being.

Caroline Schuck, Clinical Intern
Caroline (she/her/hers) will receive her master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Appalachian State University in 2025. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Art from Pratt Institute in 2019. When she moved to North Carolina in 2021 she began doing birthwork and became passionate about advocating and supporting families during pregnancy and into all stages of parenthood. Given her background in art and working with families she is dedicated to integrated approaches to change that are attuned to each individual or each system’s needs and goals. She is dedicated to supporting maternal/ parental mental health, LGBTQ populations, as well as individuals, couples and families with a variety of presenting obstacles. Caroline aims to assist in the process of client led change and wants those she works with to strengthen their resources in moving toward a more fulfilled life.
